2-3's Nursery

2-3's Nursery

We are now offering two year old funded Nursery places to those families who are eligible. Families can claim the Free Early Education Entitlement starting the term after their child turns two years old. These places are in demand so it is vital you register your child's details with us as soon as possible. You can obtain a registration form from the school office and a member of our Early Years team will be in touch to advise when a space becomes available. 3-4's Nursery

3-4's Nursery

Children are admitted into the Nursery during the term after their third birthday if a place is available.  It is important to register your child's details at the school so we can contact you when it is appropriate.You can obtain a registration form from the school Office.

Nursery staff will be glad to help and advise you on the process of admitting your child to Nursery or you can telephone on: 0113 3531000.

Attending Shakespeare Nursery does not automatically ensure your child is given a place in Shakespeare Primary School Reception.

In Leeds, children start school at the beginning of the September after their fourth birthday.  Leeds City Council Children's Services allocate places at Shakespeare Primary School.

Attending Shakespeare Primary School Nursery does not necessarily mean your child will receive a place in Reception.

Transferring Schools

Transferring Schools

If you wish to transfer school or are applying for a school place other than starting primary or secondary school for the first time you need to approach the school you wish to apply for directly.

The school will give you a form to complete or you can complete an in-year transfer form click here.

If the school is able to offer you a place, you will receive a letter confirming this from the school.

If the school is unable to offer you a place the Admissions Team will contact you in writing to let you know about the other schools in your area and any vacancies at these schools.

You will have the right of appeal to an independent panel for the school you have been refused. If you want more information about the appeals process please view the Leeds City Council Appeals page.

You must apply for a school place using the address where your child lives for the majority of the time.
