Year 5 Take Part in Festival of Science
This week Year Five jumped on a coach and made the short journey to the Parkinson Building at Leeds University for the Festival of Science.
After a short delay, the first workshop got under way. Children learnt all about DNA then used microscopes, petri dishes and other lab resources to extract the DNA from a kiwi. Great fun, and they were only just getting started!
Next they spent some time learning about different chemical reactions then it was back on with the lab coats and time to make their own bath bombs. Experimenting with colours and sizes and following instructions carefully to make a great product. A fantastic morning of Science was had by all.
