Investors in Pupils

We are very proud that we have received the Investors in Pupils Award. The principle of this award is to empower all pupils and to help contribute to raising achievement.

As part of the Investors in Pupils Award the pupils find out about our school, the jobs of everyone who works in it, the role and responsibility of the school governors, how the school budget is spent and their own responsibilities within the school.

Investors in Pupils provides opportunities for children in school to take greater responsibility for their own education and behaviour across five main areas; learning; induction; behaviour; attendance and classroom management.

At Shakespeare Primary School we are very proud of our Pupil Voice groups. We have many representatives from all year groups in school, including a School Council, Food Ambassadors, Digital Leaders, Reading Ambassadors, Art Ambassadors, PSHE Ambassadors and a School Sports Organising Crew. These children represent the ‘voice’ of the whole school and aim to bring about positive change based upon the thoughts and ideas of all children at Shakespeare. Each half term, the Pupil Voice groups present their efforts in a whole school assembly. Take a look at our twitter feed for Pupil Voice updates

Investors in Pupils encourages the pupils to take responsibility for setting themselves individual and personal targets each half term.

All our classrooms have an Investors in Pupils board, which displays:

  • Individual pupil targets and 5 steps to achieve the target

  • Class Vision

  • Class role and responsibilities

  • Investors in Pupils Certificates

Each class is also very proud of their Class Book. This is used for induction and for new starters to Shakespeare to see their new class’s journey so far. It highlights the class’s timetable, daily routine, expectations and learning projects throughout the year. Each Class Book represents the personality and energy of their class.
