Parent Voice Gets Off To A Great Start
Another fantastic Parent Voice meeting this week with over 80 (yes eight-zero!) parents.
As usual we ran through how Parent suggestions have affected change in school in our 'you said, we did' section. This included a FAQ sheet on the building project and new academic after school clubs.
We shared an introduction the new SchoolPing app and gave a whistle stop tour of how it works. Then we asked parents to share what information they'd like to see on there. Everybody had something to contribute and we are now busy putting this into place.
As reading is a school development priority this year we asked parents to share things they had found worked well when reading with their children at home. Parents also discussed some things we could do to further support them with reading at home. Again, we are busy looking at these suggestions as we plan the year ahead.
It was great to welcome three community visitors from the Compton Centre Library, St Vincent's and the Refugee Forum. Each group shared a little bit about their free services and parents then had opportunity to sign up to trips, ESOL classes, Bilingual reading groups, homework club and lots more.
All in all a super morning with lots for us to look in to. A big thank you to all who attended.
