Sky Sports Living for Sport


All year 3 and 4 children visited the John Charles Centre for Sport to take part in the Sky Sports Living for Sport Event in Leeds.

Children in year 3 and 4 took part in a variety of sporting activities led by the Sky Sports Academy Athlete Mentors. They tried their hand at boxing, led by Commonwealth gold medal boxer Courtney Fry, judo with double european silver medallist and Olympian Sophie Cox, rugby league with star Paul Broadbent and athletics with 400m runner Daniel Caines. They also tried other activities with other mentors such as World Silver medal badminton player Anthony Clark, world number one inline skater Jenna Downing, olympic swimmer Chris Cook and Paralympic gold medal swimmer Claire Cashmore. The children had a fantastic time and represented school fantastically. As you can see in the gallery, he children had lots of fun and learned about how to live a healthy and active lifestyle. The efforts and outstanding behaviour of the children was recognised by Sky Mentors who awarded the children with the trophy for the best attitude throughout the day!
