On Friday 10th January, it was Blue Abyss morning in Year 4. In our project this half term we are learning all about the lives and habitats of marine animals as well as the geography of the oceans of the world so this was a fabulous way to start this journey of discovery.
When we arrived in school, we were all writing some brilliant poems about sea creatures when we were stopped by a newsflash video which showed the unbelievable scenes in which Miss Cartwright was washed out to sea by a giant wave!
Mouths and eyes wide open, in shock, we all began by making a scuba mask before embarking on an adventure under the ocean. We headed to the hall and watched a 30-minute film showing the amazing sights and sounds of the ocean. Luckily, we managed to find Miss Cartwright too!
Suitably wowed, we headed back to class filled with hundreds of questions about the Blue Abyss. By the end of this half term, hopefully we will have answered many of them.
