City Connect - Clay Pit Lane
The ribbon has been cut on the latest dedicated cycling and walking infrastructure to be introduced in Leeds city centre!
Some of our very own Year 4, 5 and 6 children were joined by the Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin and double Olympic champion and Leeds local Alistair Brownlee at the launch of the route, which runs between north Leeds and the city centre, along Clay Pit Lane.
As Leeds Active Travel Ambassador, Alistair Brownlee made first tracks on the route following the official opening. He was joined by our children and Mr Gorton, as well as representatives from businesses and community groups who have received Combined Authority support to encourage people to cycle and walk more.
Meeting Alistair Brownlee was fantastic. It was great to be able to attend such an exciting event in our city. Hopefully, this scheme and those like it, will help encourage our staff, children and families to cycle and walk more therefore making Leeds a greener city.
