Country-wide TTRS Competition
As ever at Shakespeare Primary School, we have been working hard with our mathematical learning and that includes using Timestable Rockstars.
Recently, there was a country-wide competition from the 9th November to the 14th November as part of Maths Week England.
This competition was available to all the children in school and encouraged participation at sensible hours of the day (7:30-19:30). The tournament was completely country-wide with thousands of schools taking part. Overall, Shakespeare Primary School came 1709th which was a reasonable result though, as ever, we want to improve and move up in the rankings the next time there is a competition.
Our individual classes were also part of the competition and some classes scored over 2000 correct answers per child over this 5-day period which is a phenomenal effort. This shows just how committed and hard-working children at Shakespeare Primary School are. 3L and 4C both achieved an average score higher than 2000 correct answers per child which is magnificent with 3L leading the school overall. Congratulations 3L!
Finally, as part of the competition children’s individual scores were also tracked. Amazingly, Yaslem in Year 4 managed to achieve a truly spectacular score of 34,168 correct answers over the course of the week. Congratulations Yaslem for being the highest individual scorer in the entire school! Also, a special mention to Shanaya in Year 3 who came second in the entire school. A superb achievement for a Year 3 child!
