Y3’s Concert for the Burmantofts Senior Action Group

In December, Year Three performed a festive concert in aid of their chosen charity, the Burmantofts Senior Action Group. The BSA group is a wonderful charity led by the brilliant Mrs Sheila Davenport. It helps elderly people in the community to keep active and combat loneliness. It provides activities such as lunch clubs, friendship groups, a men's group, and an art class. Year Three and the members of this group have a fantastic relationship and meet throughout the year when we perform a winter and summer concert, and they visit Shakespeare to lead art and craft afternoons.

The Year Three Design and Technology project in the second half of the autumn term involves making a pop-up card. We decided to make celebration cards for our parents and ask for a donation at the concert for the BSA group.

The concert involved children presenting festive facts from around the world, singing some favourite festive songs and of course, sharing some TERRIBLE Christmas cracker jokes.

The audience enjoyed a hot drink and a biscuit whilst being entertained and a great time was had by all. We also raised over £50 for the Burmantofts Senior Action group which made all involved very happy.
