Y6 Nativity

Last week, our amazing Year 6 starred in the school Nativity at Bridge Community Church in Burmantofts. Under the Christmas spotlights, these amazing students sang their hearts out and acted superbly as they retold the Christmas Story – it truly was a magical spectacle!

The Nativity story was retold by our wonderful narrators who stood up in front of a 300-strong audience made up of parents, pupils and members of the public alike and spoke with such confidence and enthusiasm (everyone present was so proud of them!). However, the narrators weren’t the only stars of the show as we had all the key characters of the Christmas story in full costume acting their parts on stage. Finally, the rest of the Year 6 made up the Christmas choir. With tinsel around their heads, they sung with such passion and gusto many Christmas carols and songs. A particular highlight was them singing the chorus to Calypso Carol beaming with pride.

Shakespeare has always been blessed with creative students who put their all into practices and performances, but it is safe to say this Nativity was a real highlight showcasing Shakespeare at its very best. If this is what Year 6 can do in December, we are in for a treat at the end of the academic year when they get to perform again; we can't wsit to see what they will showcase. Well done, Year 6 – you were amazing!
