The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to employ a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join our thriving staff team.

What we are looking for?

We are looking to employ a talented and committed Learning Support Assistant to start or further their career with us. Shakespeare Primary School and Nursery is an expanding and thriving school in which support staff play a critical role in securing excellent outcomes for children. You will need to have a positive outlook and attitude, a child-focussed approach to meeting children’s needs and a commitment to working as part of a team. Crucially, you will have a passion for children’s learning, development and personal care.

We work with all our Learning Support Assistants to ensure they are highly skilled and able to work with children of all ages, levels and abilities; including those with significant special educational needs. In return we offer lots of high quality training and support to ensure our staff are well equipped for the role expected of them.

Do you enjoy delivering great customer service? Are you able to provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to our children, their parents and visitors? Do you have experience of working in a busy office where multi-tasking is essential? If yes, please read on.

It is an exciting time to join us as we continue to develop our new school building and expand our operations team to further support teaching and learning. We are looking for a unique individual to be the first point of contact for our children, parents and visitors. You must be a real people person, love children, enjoy delivering exceptional service and have excellent communication skills. You will be able to remain calm whilst working under pressure, be approachable and positive and have the ability to deal with sensitive situations and confidential information.

This important role will involve welcoming children, parents and visitors, answering telephone enquiries and undertaking general administrative tasks. You will have excellent interpersonal skills as well as good organisational and time management skills. You will be approachable, positive, with a ‘can do’ attitude. This is a varied and interesting role, where no two days are the same.

The role offers a permanent contract, subject to the successful completion of a six month probation period. We require reception cover between 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday during term time. We are able to offer the role as full time, 37.5 hours per week working between 8am-4pm or 8.30am-4.30pm or as two part-time roles either working 20 or 22.5 hours per week. Please stipulate your preference for a full time or part time contract on your application form.

The salary range, for 37.5 hours per week is £15,689.74-£16,324.11 per annum, based on salary grade B1, scale point range 4-6. The contract would be to work term time only, which is 38 weeks, plus 1 week to cover training days.
