Nursery Assistant

35 hours per week, term time only.
Salary Grade B1, scale point range 4-6, starting on scale point 4, £14,461.67 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an excellent Nursery Assistant to join our successful school. We would like to find an enthusiastic, passionate and experienced practitioner to support care and learning in our Nursery provision, becoming a valuable member of our well-established team.

What we are looking for:

If you have experience of working with two, three and four year olds and believe in a responsive and individualised approach to the learning of young children, then this role may be for you

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Room Leader or Class Teacher in the care and daily wellbeing of the children whilst enhancing their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.
  • Following policies and procedures to ensure children are safe and secure.
  • Working closely with a group of key children in supporting their learning at home and in Nursery.
  • Promoting partnership with parents and developing positive relationships where information about the child can be shared.
  • In collaboration with the Room Leader or Class Teacher, contributing to the planning of the environment and activities, with ongoing assessment of the children where they are regarded as unique individuals requiring personalised learning.
  • Attending and contributing positively to weekly team meeting to discuss the needs of the children.

It is an exciting time to join us as we continue to develop our new school building and expand our operations team to further support teaching and learning.  This important role will involve welcoming children, parents and visitors, answering telephone enquiries and undertaking general administrative tasks.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a unique individual to join our current reception/administrative team to be the first point of contact for our children, parents and visitors. You must be:
• a people person, love children and love delivering exceptional service
• an excellent communicator with great administrative skills

• able to remain calm whilst working under pressure
• approachable, positive and have the ability to deal with sensitive
situations and confidential information
