World Book Day 2026
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday March 5th with an exciting assembly presented by Mrs Fox and our Superhero Reading Buddies. It is also the National Year of Reading so we focused on reading for pleasure. The Superhero Reading Buddies shared their favourite books and their love of reading. We dramatised a story called ‘Mandy is still a Banana’ and illustrated how we are all somebody special.

Children had the option of dressing as their favourite book character or decorating potatoes. The charac’tater competition was bigger and better than ever this year with some wonderfully creative and innovative designs. Spud-tastic!

Author, Steve Weatherill made his annual visit to Nursery and Reception. He read his book, ‘Baby Goz’ which the mini-bookworms thoroughly enjoyed. Teachers participated in a Round Robin in the afternoon and the whole day was a great success. Everybody was given a free book to celebrate the day.
Keeeeep reading, Shakespeare!
