Y2 Geography Day
In Year 2, we were very excited to take part in Geography Day to launch our new project: Caring for the Coast.
As part of our learning, we carried out some virtual fieldwork exploring the amazing Jurassic Coast. We investigated our enquiry question: “What do we see at the seaside?” and discovered lots of fascinating features. We learned about physical features such as cliffs, beaches and the sea, as well as human features like piers, lighthouses and seaside shops.
To bring our learning to life, we explored different ways of using paint, experimenting with a variety of tools to create interesting textures and effects. We even collected natural materials from outside to make our own seaside inspired prints. We also went outside and used chalk to draw pictures of what we might see at the seaside.
It was a fantastic day of exploring, discovering and creating, making us very excited about visiting the coast later this year!
