Year 4 trip to Murton Park
Haven’t you heard? The Romans are back and they look just like our Year 4s! This week, Year 4 went on a trip to Murton Park, York, where they experienced a day in the life of a Roman recruit. We marched, shouting in Latin ‘sin’ and ‘dex’, meaning ‘left, right, left, right!’. After arriving at the Roman fort, we dressed up in our Roman clothes, practiced our combat training, created some clay oil lamps and practiced writing our names in Roman letters. We returned home tired after a busy day of training in the Roman army but far more knowledgeable when it comes to our project: Roman Britain!
