Diving beneath the waves with PrimeVR in Y4!

Year 4 recently embarked on an unforgettable underwater adventure without ever leaving the classroom, thanks to an exciting PrimeVR virtual reality experience which was all part of our Ocean Life topic.

Armed with VR headsets and plenty of curiosity, all the children in Year 4 were transported beneath the surface of the ocean to explore a vibrant underwater world. As they looked around in every direction, they found themselves swimming alongside an incredible range of marine life. There were graceful turtles gliding past, shoals of colourful fish darting around coral reefs, and even the thrilling sight of grey reef sharks cruising through the water. For many children, the highlight was coming face-to-face with enormous whale sharks and watching playful sea lions move effortlessly through their ocean habitat.

The sense of awe and excitement in the classroom was palpable. Gasps, wide eyes and plenty of animated discussions followed as children shared what they had spotted and compared their experiences. The immersive nature of the VR technology allowed them to feel as though they were truly part of the underwater environment, bringing learning to life in a way that books and videos alone simply cannot.

Experiences like this not only enrich our curriculum but also spark curiosity and deepen understanding by making learning memorable and meaningful. Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their virtual dive under the sea, and it is safe to say that this was an experience they will be talking about for a long time to come. A huge thank you to PrimeVR for helping us explore the wonders of the ocean – dry feet guaranteed!
