STEMFest 2026

Thirty Year 6 pupils attended STEMFest this week; an exciting hands-on exhibition celebrating science, technology, engineering and maths, where children had the opportunity to meet professionals from a wide range of STEM industries, explore future career pathways and take part in interactive activities designed to inspire curiosity and creativity.

There were many highlights, with pupils particularly enjoying the chance to wear virtual reality headsets and experience life aboard a space shuttle, as well as putting their engineering and problem-solving skills to the test by building towers and rollercoasters from K’Nex and working together to crack a code to break into a locked safe. The generous freebies were another favourite, with children collecting everything from pencils and highlighters to water bottles and even rubber ducks!

Through engaging, experiential learning, pupils developed critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills while gaining insight into how STEM industries contribute to society. The experience inspired children to think about the positive role they can play in shaping their futures and influence the world around them.
