At Shakespeare, we believe that a high-quality art and design curriculum should equip children with the basic drawing, painting and modelling skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they will develop a knowledge of the work and lives of diverse and relevant artists, including those from the local area. Our art curriculum will nurture strong partnerships with local organisations to ensure all children have opportunity to develop their own artistic and creative excellence. Children will able to think more critically about how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of Leeds, the local area and the wider world.
