The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to employ a Learning Mentor to join our pastoral support team.

Shakespeare Primary School and Nursery is a thriving school in the heart of Leeds where we aim to deliver excellence for all children. At Shakespeare, our Learning Mentors play a critical role in achieving this by providing support and guidance to vulnerable children who are experiencing challenges in learning due to social, emotional and behavioural needs.

 

What we are looking for:

We are looking to employ a talented, confident and committed Learning Mentor. You will need to have a positive outlook and attitude, high expectations of children, and be able to build strong relationships with children and families. Candidates must have good literacy and numeracy skills to at least GCSE, excellent organisational skills and excellent behaviour management skills.

Do you enjoy delivering great customer service? Are you able to provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to our children, their parents and visitors? Do you have experience of working in a busy office where multi-tasking is essential? If yes, please read on.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our children, parents and visitors to school. It is therefore essential that you are positive, well presented and able to deliver the same standard of service at 8.30am in the morning through to 4.30pm in the afternoon. Our operations team successfully provide a high standard of service to support teaching and learning and are driven in their desire to positively impact on the outcomes of our children.

This important role will involve welcoming children, parents and visitors, answering telephone enquiries, undertaking general administrative tasks as well as getting involved in wider school activities such as undertaking playtime and lunchtime duties.
