Pastoral Support Team
Our aim is to be available to support you and your children when difficulties arise over behaviour or other concerns at home or at school.
Miss L Smith is the Pastoral Support Team Manager. She is available to discuss any issue which you may have about your child. She is responsible for children who may need additional emotional and social support in school or from other agencies. She meets with these children and parents and attends reviews. She is able to advise parents on a range of difficulties which they may have at home or in the community. She provides 'time to talk' for children who may have worries about home or in school.
Mrs Brookes is our Attendance and Family Support Advisor. She monitors the attendance of all children in school and works with families to improve poor attendance, allowing pupils to reach their full potential.
Mrs Brookes also provides support for families experiencing school, health or social difficulties. She is able to refer or signpost parents for assistance with issues including housing, finances, adult learning or parenting support.
Alongside this, Mrs Brookes is one of school’s Child Protection officers and leads for Early Help support.
Miss Simcock and Mrs Thackery are the Learning Mentors in school. They work within the classroom to support children with their learning. On an afternoon they deliver both small group and individual work help children to develop their self-esteem, manage their emotions and make stronger friendships with other children.
Mrs Cook is the Safeguarding Lead Teacher in school. Miss Smith, Mrs Brookes and Mrs Briggs are also Designated Child Protection Officers.
All the Team will make home visits; give advice and signpost parents to other services. The Pastoral Support Team have a range of expertise and a range of responsibilities if you require any support please contact them on the school number.
