Julian Gorton

Julian Gorton is the Head Teacher at Shakespeare Primary School and Nursery. 

He has 25 years teaching experience working in various schools around Leeds, and he has been the Head Teacher at Shakespeare for the past 10 years. He is passionate about leading Shakespeare to be an Outstanding School so that all children have the opportunity to be the best they can be and achieve their full potential. He believes that success for children can only be served through working in partnership with parents and carers.

Julian sits on the strategic board for Active Leeds which seeks to improve the sporting opportunities for Leeds children.  He is also Chair of the local Family of Schools in Inner East Leeds and represents local Head Teachers on the Area Inclusion Partnership.

Julian is a father of 3 children - 2 girls and a boy - who attend High School and Primary Schools elsewhere in Leeds.  His interests outside school include mountain biking, walking and playing squash.
